Important Costs

All teams and competitions participating in the Raas All-Stars 2022-2023 season will be required to pay a $15 fee to maintain and/or create their membership. Failure to do so will result in a team being unable to apply or compete in the season or the removal of a competition’s bid status.
Audition Video Rules
Each team must provide a Google Drive link to view and download an audition video. The video must be in MP4 or MOV format only and the file name must be in the following format: TeamName_ CompetitionName_AuditionVideo.
Teams must adhere to the following requirements, and each RAS XV Bid Competition must enforce the following requirements:
Rules
1. Each team must have between 12 and 16 dancers on their roster, with a maximum of 20 roster members. The team roster must include any team managers, alternates, or any other non-performing members. 2. For fall competitions, the audition video must be between 1:30-2:30 minutes of continuous raas-garba dancing (including transitions between pieces), with a 30-45 second Garba requirement. 3. For spring competitions, the audition video must be between 2:00-2:30 minutes of continuous Garba/Raas dancing (including transitions between pieces), with a 30-60 second Garba Requirement. 4. The routine performed must reflect the current routine that is intended to be performed at each competition. 5. 100% of the audition video dancers must be present in the video at all times, and their full bodies must be visible, even if standing on the side. Dancers are allowed to switch in and out. 6. At least 65% of the roster members who were listed on the application must be performing in the video. Competitions may increase this percentage at their discretion. For example, if a team has 20 roster members and the percentage of dancers is 65%, then 13 of those members must be dancing in the video. 7. Male and female dancers must wear different colored shirts to allow for visualization (no more than two standardized colors). For example, guy-girls/guys may wear black and while girls wear white throughout the entire video. 8. Camera must be fixed. There can only be one camera angle (front and center), and it cannot be zoomed or panned. 9. All formations must be visible. 10. The audio and video must be good quality (720p or above). 11. Permission of audio overlay is at each competition's discretion. 12. The video must either be MP4 or MOV file format. 13. File name must be in the following format: TeamName_CompetitionName_AuditionVideo.
Restrictions
1. Previous routines or performances will not be considered.
2. College/university or team affiliated items must not be worn or visible in the video. This includes, but is not limited to: logo, mascot, symbol, slogan, colors, etc.
3. No costumes or props are allowed in the video, except dandiyas.
4. No stunts, themes, dialogue, or voice overs are permitted.
5. No intro/outro videos are permitted.
6. The video cannot be edited (must be continuous).
7. The video cannot have any special lighting or visual effects.
Standardized Acceptance Release (SAR)
Competitions will be responsible for adhering to this timeline. Failure to follow this may result in flagging of the competition or other consequences.
Teams may not drop from a lineup after accepting a spot during the SAR. If a team chooses to drop from a lineup after acceptance, they will be required to forfeit for the entire season. It will be up to the competition’s discretion whether the team will face a monetary penalty for dropping out of the lineup.
Timeline for Fall Comps: - September 29th, 2022 4:00 PM CST: Bid comps will provide RAS with a list of teams in their first round of acceptances and subsequent waitlist. - September 29th, 2022 11:59 PM CST: RAS will notify all teams via email regarding their acceptances and waitlist positions. - September 30th, 2022 11:59 PM CST: Teams have a 24 hour window to respond to the bid competition. - October 1st, 2022 4:00 PM CST: Bid comps will provide RAS with a list of teams in their second round of acceptances subsequent waitlist. - October 1st, 2022 11:59 PM CST: RAS will notify all teams via email regarding their acceptances and waitlist positions. - October 2nd, 2022 11:59 PM CST: Teams have a 24 hour window to respond to the bid competition.
Timeline for Spring Comps: - November 19th, 2022 4:00 PM CST: Bid comps will provide RAS with a list of teams in their first round of acceptances and subsequent waitlist. - November 20th, 2022 11:59 PM CST: RAS will notify all teams via email regarding their acceptances and waitlist positions. - November 22nd, 2022 11:59 PM CST: Teams have a 48 hour window to respond to the bid competition. - November 23rd, 2022 4:00 PM CST: Bid comps will provide RAS with a list of teams in their second round of acceptances subsequent waitlist. - November 23rd , 2022 11:59 PM CST: RAS will notify all teams via email regarding their acceptances and waitlist positions. - November 25th, 2022 11:59 PM CST: Teams have a 48 hour window to respond to the bid competition. - November 27th, 2022 4:00 PM CST: Bid comps will provide RAS with a list of teams in their third round of acceptances subsequent waitlist. - November 27th, 2022 11:59 PM CST: RAS will notify all teams via email regarding their acceptances and waitlist positions. - November 28th, 2022 11:59 PM CST: Teams have a 24 hour window to respond to the bid competition. - November 29th, 2022 12:00 AM CST - December 3rd, 2022 11:59 PM CST: After third wave, bid comps will work with their waitlist teams to complete the rest of their lineup if necessary. You may ask RAS for assistance! *Official lineup MUST be submitted by the end of this period.*
