Raas All-Stars (RAS) began in 2009 as a humble vision to support philanthropic causes vital to the South Asian community while celebrating the Raas-Garba tradition, a folk dance originating from Gujarat, India. For the past fifteen years, RAS has grown into one of the largest multicultural intercollegiate dance communities in the country through its expansive network of 15,000+ dancers, team managers, competition board members, and alumni across the country. As part of its efforts to pursue a greater philanthropic mission, RAS prides itself in partnering with numerous organizations dedicated to preserving South Asian traditions for the past fourteen years.
As our collegiate dance circuit continues to grow, we want to ensure that RAS fosters an environment that promotes diversity, safety, and inclusion. In order to uphold this culture, RAS Town Halls provide resources that will bring the circuit together.
Raas All-Stars (RAS) will host its sixteenth anniversary national showcase, Raas All-Stars XVI, in Chicago, IL on March 30th, 2024 and is searching for sponsors to help carry out the event. Last year, RAS successfully engaged over 5,000+ students, professionals, community members, and partnering nonprofit organizations. What is Raas All-Stars?
​Raas All-Stars (RAS) is a registered 501(c)(3) organization committed to promoting the performing arts, particularly the traditional Indian dance style of Raas-Garba, as well as a greater philanthropic mission.
Unites a community of 70 teams and over 5,000 dancers, musicians and competition organizers across the country

Raas-Garba is a folk dance of Western India, characterized by energetic movements and twirling dandiya sticks. Performers blend traditional styles with modern music and storytelling to create innovative, crowd-pleasing routines.

National Presence
RAS successfully coordinates, promotes, and organizes a network of 70 Raas-Garba teams at universities across the nation. This upcoming season, we will have 17 bid competitions across the nation at which these teams compete for a spot at the national championship. The top 9 teams from the nation will then compete in Chicago, IL. RAS has built an organized competition, branded identity, and more importantly, an all-inclusive community that supports and grows by the day! This year will mark our 15th anniversary, and we hope to further our efforts to unite the local, national, and global community.
